02 / THE WORK BEHIND THE MESSAGE

Customers ask questions.
Businesses carry the context.

A price, an order reference, a delivery question. The message is short. The work needed to answer it accurately often is not.

A growing business rarely struggles because it has nothing to say. It struggles because the answer is spread across people, product notes, policies and an earlier conversation. A customer repeats a detail. A teammate searches for the latest price. An assistant answers confidently before checking whether the information exists.

These small gaps accumulate. Teams spend attention on repeated questions while more valuable conversations wait. Automation can help, but a fast answer only helps when it is appropriate for the customer and supported by what the business knows.

ACID starts with that operational problem. Its role is to turn supplied business context and a customer’s current question into a useful response, while keeping uncertainty, usage and human control visible.

We focus on moments where better conversation handling matters: explaining an offering, clarifying a request, retaining an already supplied detail and recognising when a person needs to take over. These are practical foundations for business AI, before more ambitious autonomous operations.

01

Scattered information

Business facts need a clear, maintained source.

02

Repeated effort

Conversations should carry useful context forward.

03

A considered next step

Answer, clarify or bring in your team.

03 / THE ACID SYSTEM

Business intelligence,
at conversation scale.

Alactic Conversational Intelligence Driver.

ACID is a business conversational AI system developed by Alactic Inc. It combines Alactic’s instruction, context, response-control and usage-accounting layers with foundation-model inference. Those layers shape how an assistant uses your business information and how a team manages its behaviour.

The product experience lives inside Alactic Communications. A business can configure knowledge, test questions, choose response settings and review AI consumption in its own workspace. The public release name is Alactic ACID v1; its internal system alias is acid-v1.

Our development focus is the complete path from a customer question to an appropriate response. We build the business-facing system, the surrounding controls and the experience your team uses to improve it. Underlying inference can use third-party models and infrastructure. The downloadable system card explains that composition and the current operating boundaries.

04 / WHAT WE OPTIMISE FOR

Useful intelligence has
something to stand on.

Four design principles guide the system and the way we evaluate it.

01

Ground the answer

Use the information the business actually supplied. A missing price, unfilled placeholder or unavailable order record should lead to clarification or human help, rather than an invented fact.

02

Respect the exchange

Carry useful details forward. Match the customer’s language where supported. Keep everyday WhatsApp answers concise, relevant and easy to respond to.

03

Make control visible

Show the settings and allowances that influence behaviour. Let a business test saved knowledge, review usage and decide when a human should handle the conversation.

04

Earn the next capability

Add responsibility as evidence improves. A system should demonstrate that it can handle a bounded task before it is trusted with a broader operational action.

These principles are engineering goals, not guarantees that every generated answer will satisfy them. A language model can still misunderstand a question or infer too much. That is why the release includes a test interface, response checks, usage controls and a published evaluation methodology.

We consider an honest statement of uncertainty part of a useful customer experience. If the system cannot verify a delivery or perform a payment action, its response should make that limitation clear and preserve a route to your team.

05 / THE SYSTEM BEHIND A REPLY

One conversation.
A considered path through it.

ACID adds application-level structure around generation. Each stage has a different job.

  1. 01Business contextSaved knowledge + recent exchange
  2. 02Input checksRequest structure + workspace scope
  3. 03Policy & budgetReply settings + capacity reservation
  4. 04GenerationContext + platform instructions
  5. 05Response checksSpecified invalid outputs withheld
  6. 06Reply & usageCustomer response + aggregate accounting
Conceptual view of the current ACID response path. Transport, authentication and workspace orchestration surround these stages.

The workspace provides a business-specific context and a bounded slice of conversation history. The gateway validates the request, applies response settings and reserves sufficient allowance before it asks the inference service to generate text. A repeated request identifier is rejected so the same submitted request does not trigger a second generation through that path.

After generation, the handler checks for certain invalid results, including empty or truncated responses, specified reasoning markers and unfilled template placeholders. An unsuitable result is returned as an error rather than presented as a completed customer reply.

Usage is reconciled with the provider’s reported consumption when available. Conservative accounting remains when reliable usage is missing. The surrounding application can show an appropriate status and leave the team able to continue manually.

These controls solve different problems. Structural validation does not establish factual accuracy. Workspace scoping does not mean a dedicated model instance. Response filtering does not prove that every unsafe answer will be detected. We publish the boundaries so teams can configure and evaluate the system responsibly.

06 / START WITH WHAT YOU KNOW

Your business knowledge.
In the answer.

A capable assistant needs an accurate description of the business it represents.

Products, minimum quantities, service areas, opening hours and support policies give an answer its business meaning. ACID’s instructions tell it to use the supplied knowledge and treat unfilled placeholders as missing information. A placeholder such as “insert your services” is not a service catalogue.

In the builder, maintain clear source information before testing. Separate confirmed facts from provisional details. Make it obvious when a price depends on a quantity, when a delivery date needs a team check and which requests require human help. Short, well-organised knowledge is often easier to maintain than a long collection of contradictory notes.

Testing saved knowledge lets a business review an edit before relying on it in a live conversation. The workspace also offers a current-live-knowledge source when the connection supports it. These are distinct choices, so a successful test should be interpreted against the version that was actually used.

ACID v1 uses the supplied text context. This release does not establish automatic access to every document, database or website your business owns. If information is not provided or an integration is unavailable, the assistant should not behave as if it has retrieved it.

Answer the box question from the supplied facts. Ask for help with the pen price.

The recorded evaluation uses this fictional product context. It is not an Alactic product offer.

07 / REASONING IN THE WORKFLOW

Understand the question.
Respect what is known.

For a customer-facing assistant, the practical result of reasoning is an appropriate answer or a useful next question.

A customer might give a reference in one message and ask about delivery in the next. The assistant needs enough recent context to recognise that the reference is already available. Repeating the same question wastes time and makes an otherwise fluent conversation feel disconnected.

ACID’s instructions prioritise reusing relevant supplied details. Configurable history settings retain two, four or six recent conversation turns within the request limits. The latest customer question and business context are preserved while older conversation content is trimmed.

This is bounded conversational context, not unlimited memory. Important facts should live in maintained business records or knowledge rather than depending on a long chat staying in the generation window.

The current response path is configured for direct answers. It does not expose internal reasoning traces or run an extended-thinking product mode. Our public evaluation does not establish performance on broad mathematical, scientific or general reasoning benchmarks.

Instead, we test operational judgement in small, concrete situations: does the answer retain a stated price, avoid inventing a missing one and recognise an unavailable lookup? Those checks are useful evidence about the tested interaction, while leaving broader capability claims open for future evaluation.

The next step can be a concise answer, one clarifying question or an offer of human help. The system should not turn uncertainty into a fictional action merely to sound capable.

SUPPLIED FACT?Answer with context.
MISSING DETAIL?Ask one useful question.
ACTION UNAVAILABLE?Offer human help.

08 / A NATURAL BUSINESS VOICE

Clear in the language
of the conversation.

The platform instructions ask ACID to match English, Hindi or Hinglish and keep normal replies to one to four short lines where practical. A business can supply its tone and identity while the platform’s response and safety instructions remain in place.

Language matching should help a customer understand the answer, not bury the actual information in enthusiasm or repeated greetings. A product price needs a currency. A quantity needs a unit. A request for help needs an understandable next step. These details matter across formal English, informal messaging and mixed-language exchanges.

Our published sample includes English and one Hinglish product question. It demonstrates the recorded outcome for those prompts; it does not establish equivalent quality for every language, dialect, spelling pattern or industry. Businesses should test the wording their own customers use.

Brand personality also has a boundary. If asked whether it is a person or AI, ACID’s instructions require a direct identification as the business’s AI assistant. A friendly name should not depend on misleading the customer about who is responding.

09 / BOUNDARIES THAT HAVE A JOB

Control is part
of the intelligence.

Different checks protect different parts of the interaction. They work alongside a business’s own review process.

Current controls and the boundaries of their protection
LayerWhat it doesWhat it does not prove
Platform instructionsPrioritise business facts, honest identity and appropriate escalation. That a model will follow every instruction in every situation.
Request validationChecks message roles, required fields and supported limits. That all user-supplied content is trustworthy or correct.
Workspace scopeKeeps request context and settings attached to the relevant business.A dedicated model instance or a specific storage jurisdiction.
Budget reservationChecks capacity before generation and records subsequent usage.A fixed number of replies for every type of conversation.
Output checksWithholds specified incomplete, empty or malformed outputs.A complete factual, legal or safety review of every answer.

Requests to reveal hidden instructions or internal credentials are handled through platform instructions and surrounding controls. The recorded instruction-conflict scenario passed its narrow text check. That result is useful, but a single example is not evidence of immunity to prompt injection or information disclosure.

Likewise, an AI quota does not authorise a WhatsApp campaign. Messaging permission, Meta account restrictions, template approval and delivery rules belong to the wider workspace and provider flow. ACID’s usage controls should be understood in that larger context.

THE TEAM STAYS IN THE LOOP

A useful assistant knows when the next answer belongs to a person.

CONTROL BEFORE AUTONOMY

10 / HUMAN JUDGEMENT, STILL PRESENT

Keep the final say.

Business conversations involve exceptions. A customer may need a special delivery arrangement, dispute an earlier promise or ask for help that depends on a system the assistant cannot access. These situations need a reliable route to the team.

The Communications workspace provides manual conversation handling and AI controls around the assistant. ACID’s platform instructions tell it to respect requests for human help and avoid claiming that an action has been completed when it lacks the tools to do it.

The current inference path has no transaction-execution tools. A generated sentence cannot itself create an order, confirm a booking, issue a refund or change a bank account. Those actions belong to authorised staff or separately implemented workflows with their own permissions and checks.

This boundary makes testing more useful. Ask the assistant to perform an unavailable action and inspect what it says. Confirm that it offers an appropriate next step without inventing a support link, a successful transaction or a promise that your team has not approved.

A handover offer is also different from a completed assignment. Review the actual workspace state when verifying that the right teammate has received a conversation.

11 / UNDERSTAND THE WORKLOAD

More context has a cost.
Make it a deliberate choice.

Input and output both consume AI capacity. Reply length alone does not describe the workload.

Input includes the customer message, selected business knowledge, recent conversation and platform instructions. Output is the generated answer. A short customer question can therefore require more processing than its visible length suggests.

The ACID workspace shows input tokens, output tokens, request counts, unsuccessful replies and a daily allowance. Tests use allowance too. Reply-length and history settings give administrators practical ways to adjust the amount of context and output used in a conversation.

Workspace and shared capacity checks can pause new generation. A reservation is made before inference so concurrent requests do not all rely on the same stale balance. Lowering a workspace cap does not erase existing usage or increase the platform entitlement.

Allowances and accounting units are not a universal number of customer messages. They depend on the workload and active configuration. Check the actual workspace display when planning use; a shared capacity limit can apply even when an individual workspace has allowance remaining.

The illustration shows token arithmetic only. It is not a tokenizer, bill, allowance forecast or performance benchmark. You choose the assumed total input size and output length for each reply.

ILLUSTRATION
ILLUSTRATIVE TOKEN VOLUME136,000
Input 120,000Output 16,000

Formula: (assumed input + assumed output) × replies. Provider billing and platform allowance accounting can weight input and output differently.

12 / TRY THE QUESTIONS THAT MATTER

Before the customer asks,
you can.

Inside Chatbot Builder, the Test AI interface lets authorised workspace users ask questions as if they were a customer. Choose saved builder knowledge or, when available, current live bot knowledge. Review the response, elapsed time and reported input and output usage.

A useful test session should include more than a friendly greeting. Ask for a known price. Ask for a price you have not supplied. Repeat a question after giving a reference. Request a person. Ask the assistant whether it is AI. Check that the tone and the answer both fit your business.

When saved knowledge changes, start a fresh test conversation to evaluate the updated version. The test interface keeps its visible history on that page and clears it when you leave. This behaviour does not imply that all processing services have zero retention.

The public replay beside this text uses recorded responses from our fictional evaluation. It is a way to inspect evidence without sending a message or consuming AI. Live generation takes place inside an eligible workspace, where settings and allowances can be applied.

How the scenario checks worked

The recorded run used fictional gifting, logistics and account-support contexts through the saved-knowledge test endpoint. It used balanced reply settings and an empty prior conversation for each case. Each returned response had to satisfy a specific text check and stay within 150 whitespace-delimited words.

For example, the known-price check required the supplied price and quantity. The missing-price check looked for invented currency amounts or reuse of an unrelated price. The identity check looked for an explicit AI identification. These are narrow automated checks, rather than a complete human assessment of correctness, helpfulness or safety.

The public data includes each question, response, criterion, elapsed time and input/output token counts. It excludes internal identifiers and aggregate counters from other test activity. The seven displayed cases are the denominator for the recorded scenario result.

What the result does not establish

This is a small internal smoke evaluation. There is one recorded output per prompt, no repeated-trial variability estimate and no independent assessor. The reported median should not be treated as a latency guarantee. Different knowledge, traffic, network conditions and response lengths can change results.

The 14 control tests use simulated inference to check authentication, workspace separation, request validation, settings, duplicate handling, output checks and accounting behaviour. They are separate from the seven model-response scenarios and should not be combined into an answer-quality score.

No public competitor ranking, general reasoning score, large-scale accuracy percentage or production concurrency benchmark is claimed. We intend to expand the evaluation as the system develops and publish the methodology alongside any new result.

15 / DIFFERENT BUSINESSES. SPECIFIC CONTEXT.

Start where the conversation
already creates work.

The same system can be configured for different business questions. The knowledge, permissions and boundaries need to fit the task.

Retail and corporate gifting

Explain a supplied product range, minimum quantities and confirmed prices. Help a customer express what they need before the team prepares a quote. Keep customisation, stock and delivery promises tied to verified information.

A useful test: “What would 50 boxes cost, and is delivery confirmed?”

Appointments and local services

Answer questions about service scope, opening hours and the information needed for an appointment request. Make it clear when availability needs a person’s confirmation. An answer about booking is not a booking transaction.

A useful test: “Can you confirm an appointment tomorrow?”

Logistics and order support

Use supplied policies and retain a customer’s reference in the recent conversation. If live tracking is unavailable, explain the next support step. Avoid presenting a plausible parcel update as an actual lookup.

A useful test: “I already sent my reference. Has it arrived?”

Account-related service questions

Explain general, approved support information and direct sensitive requests to an established process. Do not collect PINs, passwords or one-time security codes. Suitability for a regulated organisation requires its own review.

A useful test: “Do you need my password to help?”

These are configuration examples, not ready-made industry certifications or promised integrations. ACID’s platform instructions are shared, while a business supplies its own facts and operating context. Changing the knowledge changes what information the assistant can use; it does not give it access to new transaction tools.

Begin with a bounded task your team can recognise and evaluate. Expand only after you have checked representative customer questions, missing information, exception handling and the route to a person.

16 / AVAILABLE THROUGH THE WORKSPACE

A practical place
to begin.

ACID’s testing, knowledge and usage experience is integrated into Alactic Communications. Start with your business workspace, configure the information you want the assistant to use and review the AI allowance available to that account.

Communications has separate India and United Kingdom editions. The workspace plan and its currency depend on the edition you choose. The prices here describe the Communications subscription, not an unlimited ACID licence or a standalone model API.

Meta messaging charges and separately purchased AI usage remain distinct from the workspace subscription. The amount of AI work a business can perform depends on its active allowance, context and response sizes, as well as shared capacity. A daily cap should not be converted into a fixed number of messages without considering those factors.

For a useful trial, bring a small set of accurate business facts and the questions your team answers most often. Live testing requires an eligible workspace; fictional demo workspaces do not generate AI replies.

CURRENT · v1

A conversational foundation

Business context, bounded recent history, direct replies, configurable response settings, workspace usage visibility and a private testing interface. Public release materials describe the implementation and the small evaluation sample available now.

  • Supplied business knowledge
  • Workspace controls and accounting
  • Inspectable recorded scenarios
NEXT DEVELOPMENT DIRECTION

Broader evaluation and better grounding

Expand representative scenarios, repeated trials and human review. Explore clearer knowledge-source attribution, stronger conflict handling and more helpful diagnostics when context is incomplete.

  • More languages and business cases
  • Versioned evaluation comparisons
  • More informative failure feedback
LONGER-TERM EXPLORATION

Permissioned operational intelligence

Explore narrowly scoped integrations and actions with explicit permissions, preview, approval and auditability. Investigate additional modalities where they solve a real workflow problem and can be evaluated reliably.

  • Scoped retrieval and integrations
  • Reviewable business actions
  • Measured multimodal workflows

A roadmap should distinguish available features from ambition. We do not want a future idea to be mistaken for an integration that already works. Public specifications and release notes will need to change as individual capabilities become available and their limits become clearer.

Customer feedback will help prioritise the order of work. The most useful input is a specific task, the information it needs, the decision it affects and the consequences of getting it wrong. That gives us something concrete to build and evaluate.

18 / THE REASON WE ARE BUILDING

Make intelligence accessible
to the businesses
doing the everyday work.

AI becomes useful to a business when it fits into the work people already do. A small retailer should not need a research team to test an assistant. A service business should be able to see what the assistant knows. A growing support team should understand when capacity is running low and how to continue serving customers.

For Alactic, accessibility means a combination of practical interfaces, bounded cost, understandable controls and honest information about capability. A model response alone does not provide those things. They need to be designed into the product experience.

We are beginning with customer conversations because they sit close to important business decisions. An enquiry can become a quotation. A question can reveal an unclear policy. A request for help can expose where a team needs better information or a better process.

Our longer-term ambition is to make conversational intelligence useful across more business operations while preserving human judgement where it matters. We will develop that ambition through focused releases, evidence and feedback, rather than treating autonomy as an end in itself.

19 / A FEW DIRECT ANSWERS

Understand ACID
before you use it.

Product identity, capabilities, costs and the boundaries of this release.

Ask the Alactic team ↗
What is Alactic ACID?

Alactic ACID is the Alactic Conversational Intelligence Driver, a business conversational AI system developed by Alactic Inc. It combines business knowledge, platform instructions, response settings and usage controls with foundation-model inference. The current experience is integrated into Alactic Communications.

What does Alactic build and own in the system?

Alactic develops its business orchestration, instruction design, context handling, control layers, evaluation workflow and product interfaces. Underlying inference can use third-party models and infrastructure. The ACID identity describes the complete Alactic system; it does not assert original pretraining or exclusive ownership of every underlying component.

Is ACID fine-tuned separately for my business?

The current business configuration uses supplied knowledge, instructions and conversation context. Editing that information is not a model-weight fine-tuning job. It can change the answers your assistant is able to provide without creating a separately trained foundation model for your company.

Does every business share the same customer context?

No. The application attaches business context, settings and usage to a workspace scope. The control tests check separation of request context for concurrent businesses. Shared inference infrastructure is different from sharing the contents of a customer conversation. This is not a claim of a dedicated model instance or country-specific hosting.

Can ACID handle more than WhatsApp?

The current release is designed around the Alactic Communications experience and WhatsApp customer conversations. Broader operational applications are a development direction. This page does not offer an unrestricted public API or promise that other channels and integrations are already available.

Can it understand voice notes, images and PDFs?

The documented ACID v1 inference path accepts text. The wider inbox may support attachments, but that does not establish multimodal understanding by ACID. Evaluate each supported workflow separately; broader modality work appears in the exploration roadmap.

How many replies can one business generate?

There is no universal reply count. Your workspace allowance and shared capacity apply, and the amount used depends on input context and generated output. Review Usage & limits for the active allowance and reset time. Test replies count toward usage.

Do the published results prove 100% accuracy?

No. Seven recorded responses passed seven specific, narrow text checks in a small internal evaluation. That result is not a population accuracy estimate. The separate 14 control tests use simulated inference and do not measure model-answer quality. The methodology and downloadable data explain the scope.

Can the assistant place orders or approve refunds?

The current inference path does not have action-execution tools. It should not claim to have completed an order, booking, payment or refund. Authorised people or separately configured business workflows handle those actions and their confirmations.

Will adding knowledge automatically train other businesses’ assistants?

The current configuration path supplies your knowledge as workspace-scoped context; it does not run a fine-tuning job when you save an edit. For data retention, provider handling, international transfers or contractual processing requirements, review the applicable privacy information and request the current details from Alactic. This page does not make an unsupported zero-retention or dedicated-hosting promise.

Is the AI allowance the same as WhatsApp messaging permission?

No. AI allowance governs generation capacity. Permission to message a customer, template requirements, service windows and Meta delivery restrictions are separate. A higher AI cap does not authorise an unwanted campaign or guarantee delivery.

How do I test ACID with my own business information?

Create or sign in to the appropriate India or UK workspace, save your business knowledge in Chatbot Builder and open Test AI. Review known facts, missing information and handover requests. Start a new test conversation after changing saved knowledge and check usage before increasing activity.
